Tehmeena has joined the PPF in January 2019 as a Researcher and PPF and member of the research team studying the Implementation of Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 in association with Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR). She has written articles on various subjects of her research interests. She has interned with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India and has also served as Bureau Chief of Jammu and Kashmir for ICN Digital Media Group. She has been invited thus to speak on women’s rights and empowerment of women in various events besides being featured as a respected speaker on national television. She has been a speaker at the 43rd United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. She had also been nominated for NARI SHAKTI PURASKAR at a tender age for her outstanding commitment to her work. Awarded the I VOLUNTEER AWARD FOR SOCIAL CHANGE in the year 2019. She is also a co-founder of a policy institute in Kashmir (JK Policy Institute) Having grown up in a conflict zone like Kashmir, Tehmeena’s work sets the stage for mainstreaming women’s rights in an environment of limited rights in Kashmir.
