BIOGRAPHY

Gen Vij was the 21st Chef of the Army staff from 31 December 2002 to 31 Jan 2005. He was the Director General of Military Operation (DGMO) during the very successful operations by Indian Army for eviction of Pakistan Intruders in Kargil in 1999. He was appointed Founder Vice Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority, in the rank of Cabinet Minister, for five Years from Sept 2005 – September 2010. He was Director Vivekanand International Foundation, from June 2014- Sept 2017. He is currently serving as a Member of Governing Council, PPF
