About Events

In the Global Symposium on Disaster Resilient Smart Cities, organised by JNU Special Centre for Disaster Research, KM Singh, Vice President, PPF delivered a talk on ‘Making Animals in Smart cities Disaster Safe’ on 4-6 December,2019. He highlighted that India is primarily an agrarian country where animals are an integral part of human life not only in rural areas, but also in cities. So, if inclusivity and comprehensive development are the stated missions of smart cities, it should cover all lives including urban animals. It would call for a visionary & comprehensive approach in planning of smart cities with a policy, an institutional mechanism, requisite infrastructure besides capacity building and awareness generation measures.
