PPF in collaboration with WAP organised a 2-day ‘National Workshop on Management of Animals in Emergencies’ (2016) at National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) in association with Dept of Animal Husbandry (GoI) on 3-4 March, 2016. This workshop, inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture Shri Radha Mohan Singh, was attended by participants comprising Veterinarians and experts from all the states and officers from concerned agencies and research institutions of Central Govt. Recommendations of this National Workshop suggesting amendment to DM Act 2005 to include ‘Animals’ at Sec 2 (d) of the Act, were forwarded to concerned ministries/ departments of GoI.
